Need a part-time job? Want to work for a radio station? Come to the WBT casting call.

News Talk 1110 WBT programs a wide variety of personalities. Together they represent a station that is happy, fun, active, friendly, outgoing, well spoken, and entertaining. Cast members must represent these same traits at events through active, engaging conversation. Cast members will log miles of time and distance as they recruit listeners. Please note: Cast members do not actually appear on-air.

CAABJ Membership

By becoming a member of the Charlotte Area Association of Black Journalists, you’ll be investing in your career, industry, and community. CAABJ holds meetings, workshops, and social and networking events throughout the year. The organization also utilizes its resources to help connect members with professional development, jobs, freelance opportunities, internships, and it awards a scholarship annually.

Full Membership: Open to working journalists, i.e., reporters, editors and photographers who work for newspapers, television and radio stations, magazines and wire services and who produce, gather, disseminate and distribute news. In addition, memberships shall be open to freelance journalists who can prove that they spend more than half their time producing, gathering, disseminating or distributing news.

Associate Membership: Open to part-time freelancers, journalists employed in public information areas, to journalists employed in an academic field, i.e. college of university professors, high school journalism teachers, or those working journalists who after being employed at a newspaper, television or radio station, magazine or wire service decide to further their education.

Student Membership: Open to anyone who is a full-time student at an accredited high school, college or university. Course of study must be in the communications field, preferably print journalism or broadcast journalism.
